Rincon at Two: Focus on Safety Excellence

:: Monday, May 20, 2024

As we celebrate our second anniversary at Rincon, we’re showcasing the operational safety progress we’ve made on-site.

Moving our site forward

Rincon 3000 is our battery-grade lithium carbonate plant which is currently under construction. As part of our preparation to start lithium production by the end of the year, our operations team is conducting development activities covering a variety of topics such as safety, teamwork, and technical skills.

Rincon Training Centre visits

Over the past month, Rincon’s Training and Assessment Centre in Salta welcomed guests from government authorities to students interested in getting first-hand information about our work.

Equipped with state-of-the-art tools to train our teams in the latest technologies and safety procedures, our Training Centre has been designed to provide education and training in skills, knowledge, and technical competencies for Rincon employees and contractors.

Training on site

We held ethics and compliance trainings conducted for Rincon employees and contractors, aiming to ensure ethical practices throughout our workforce. These trainings provided an opportunity to strengthen our work practices and recognize warning signs and concerns.

As we continue to develop the Rincon site, Rio Tinto is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of everyone who visits our operations—it is part of who we are and the way we work, every shift, every day.
